History of the FRCA
The founding members of the Forest Ranch Community Association (FRCA) received inspiration for the establishment of this association from the efforts of the Cohasset Community Association which certain founding members had been involved with. Charmion Nelson who was heavily involved in the organization of the Cohasset Community Association collaborated with Gene Rolls and others, resulting in the creation of the Forest Ranch Community Association. To the best of our records, the FRCA was organized on June 16th, 1980. Gene Rolls was the chair of the original by-laws committee and despite the original challenges of getting such an organization off the ground, through the perseverance and review of the founding body, the Forest Ranch Community Associate came into being.
On April 8th, 1981, the Forest Ranch Community Association was incorporated in the State of California as a non-profit public benefit corporation under Section 23701F of the California Revenue and Taxation Code and Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. After this incorporation, the FRCA was tax exempt, however, donations and dues were not tax deductible by the donor.
On February 18th, 1984, the FRCA applied to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for Recognition of Exemption under Section 501(c)(3). After continued correspondence with the IRS regarding requirements for this status, the FRCA’s Certificate of Amendment of Articles of Incorporation were endorsed by the California Secretary of State which changed the status to 501(c)(3).
Since the inception and early history of the Forest Ranch Community Association, we strive to support our community in all collaboration and growth opportunities.
Our purpose is to support a healthy and collaborative atmosphere, support our local organizations, and maintain our community center to allow for a communal event and activity location which our community can enjoy.
